Higher Education

MBI Al Jaber believes that individuals can make a difference and that education is the key to unlocking this potential.

Aside from his personal pursuit to continue his own education, MBI Al Jaber is passionate about his commitment to the right to higher education for all, with a particular focus on students in the Middle East.  His involvement in philanthropic activities grew out of this initial dedication to provide scholarships for students seeking Masters programmes.  This initiative has since expanded to further scholarship programmes, contributions to and partnerships with universities and educational projects through the MBI Al Jaber Foundation.

Scholarship Programmes

Through the MBI Al Jaber Foundation, scholarship programmes continue to expand including a programme granting 35 scholarships for Middle East students each year at MODUL University Vienna, where MBI Al Jaber is a founding partner.  MBI Al Jaber has also supported a scholarship programme at Nice University in support of Francophone students from the Arab World.

Contribution to Universities

Through the MBI Al Jaber Foundation, MBI Al Jaber also supports universities directly including contributions to Dar El Hekmah and LMEI at SOAS.

In 2009 Corpus Christi Oxford inaugurated the MBI Al Jaber Building, named in recognition of his generosity and support for the College.

In 2007, an agreement was signed for the construction of the MBI Al Jaber Lecture Theatre in UCL’s new Institute for Cultural Heritage.
